Noah in the Snow
by Joel in Noah
We had some snow overnight so Noah and I went out to shovel today. We did not have his shovel, so he borrowed mine. We played in the snow, too, but I did not have the camera for that (he likes to fall backwards into the snow). When we were back inside, he gave his friends a ride on his fire truck and put on his mittens.

Video of Noah Ice Skating
by Joel in Noah
Here is a video of ice skating at the park. The video shows Noah after he had been on the ice 5-10 minutes and he was starting to adjust to the skates. If you can’t understand what Noah says about 20 seconds into the clip, it’s “lift your head up” because I was looking down at the video camera to keep Noah and Talia in the frame. At the very end he refers to seeing him falling down (which he did not do at the time).

Noah’s First Time Ice Skating
by Joel in Noah
We took Noah ice skating for the first time at a park near us. Not surprisingly, he loved it. He did a good job, fell quite a few times and laughed, and even managed to get up on his own by the end.

A Picture by Noah
by Joel in Noah
The first picture is one that Noah took last night. He took a bunch of them, but I like this one. I am not sure how he selected the composition, because his technique with the DSLR is to mash it against his face and tightly close both eyes. But it worked here. The shot also benefited, I think, by Noah’s tendency to click the shutter a second time before the flash is able to recharge. (It is a dark shot, but if it is too dark on your monitor to see anything, let me know.)

Here are some more pictures. The first shows the broom/guitar after Daddy sat on it (Noah didn’t seem to care).

I think he is playing something for Mommy here:

Visiting Nana and Papa
by Joel in Camp, Noah
We went to visit Nana and Papa this weekend and despite the somewhat cool temperatures Noah managed to get outside both days. There are more pictures than usual in this post (17) so you can click through below to see the rest of the pictures.

Costa Rica Pictures
by Joel in Travel

Okay, stick with me on this. It is going to take a little while. But not too long. I have posted a preliminary group of unedited photographs from the first two days. I am going to add many more (and upload better versions of what is there now). Additional pictures will start appearing by tonight.
The pictures are on our MobileMe gallery. Please let me know if you have any problems accessing it. Until I upload higher quality files, some of the pictures might look a little fuzzy at the large size.
Here is the site again: http://gallery.me.com/joeltimmins
Update: Additional pictures have been posted. The gallery now includes 203 pictures from the entire trip, although more will be added (and organized by region). The pictures still need to be edited, but at least something is posted.
